A history of craftsmanship, since 1954

The wife of Eusebio Scalabrini had the idea of making shopping bags with nylon handles, a little known material at the time, and this led to the founding of Scalabrini in 1954.

The wife of Eusebio Scalabrini had the idea of making shopping bags with nylon handles, a little known material at the time, and this led to the founding of Scalabrini in 1954.

When supermarkets and retail chains started using plastic bags around 1976, Scalabrini rapidly began to invent new models and work on a wealth of new ideas.

This was the year that his children Ivan and Denis joined the company and over the next 15 years they worked out of a small workshop near home until their new factory was set up in 1991.
His children met an agency from Milan in the 90s that put them in touch with emerging designers of the time to work with famous fashion brands.

By 1995 they had decided to import products from Asia and other countries, intensifying their research and partnerships in China, Vietnam, India and Turkey.

His grandchildren Stefano and Stefania have worked in the company since 2002 as the domestic and international marketing managers who are in constant contact with suppliers.
